Mental Health Counselor / Technician ( QMHP-Trainee or QMHP-C)
The ideal candidate should have experience in providing direct clinical services to at-risk youth and adolescents and conducting direct services to the clients within their home setting.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide direct support, coaching, advice, parent education, and more within their home setting.
- Create progress/service notes, Individual Service Plan, and quarterly reports.
- Implement a variety of behavioral, social and recreational problem-solving interventions in client’s home and community as appropriate and necessary.
- Provide linkage to community-based services and supports; advocacy and support for family.
Qualifications/Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, social work, other human services related field, or in special education from an accredited college
- At least 1 year of clinical, mental, & behavioral health experience with children and adolescents.
- A valid Driver’s License is required for employment
- QMHP Certification required ( QMHP-c or QMHP-Trainee)
- 1 year of experience writing clinical documentation (progress notes, treatment plans, discharge plans, etc.)
- Bilingual in Spanish is preferred but not required’
VA Licensed or Licensed Eligible Mental Health Clinicians
The ideal candidate will be providing individual, group, and family therapy, in order to appropriately assess, diagnose, treat, and provide resources for mental and emotional issues.
Responsibilities
- Conduct scheduled virtual/remote/in office therapy visits for patients with anxiety, depression and other mental health conditions (including but not limited to stress, relationships, health concerns, etc.).
- Ability to develop rapport and sustain therapeutic relationships
- Utilize evidence-based approaches to treatment consistent with health/mental health integration and responsive to personal factors in treatment engagement
- Provide culturally competent services that are individualized to client needs and reflect the integration of race, ethnicity, culture, primary language, immigration status, sexuality, age, and gender
- Maintain a comprehensive record of the patient’s complete physical and mental health history
- Cultivate an environment of trust and compassion between patients and providers
- Ability to develop and executive treatment plans based on evidence based practices, and informed by objective data
Qualifications:
- Must hold a Masters Degree
- Must be licensed through the state of Virginia’s Board of Counseling ( LPC, LCSW, MFT)
- Two years of practice experience preferred
- Demonstrated experience with diverse children and adults receiving mental health treatment
- Demonstrated expertise in evidence-based practice; experience with mindfulness-based approaches highly preferred
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; Respect for patient confidentiality
- Compassionate and approachable; Responsible and trustworthy
